The two-time commissioner of information in Kogi state is a multi award winning icon renowned for his inventive works in the media , politics and philanthropy.
He is the Founder of APC NewsOnline,an online media organization that diseminates timely,usable,and authoritative information deploying it's e-newspaper,TV and Blogs to million s of subscribers and supporters of Africa's largest political party,the All Progressives Congress,APC both home and abroad.
His many-plumed political hat--the crowning glory of a plethora of practical media political involvement and active participation over several decades is also buoyed by his acquisition of rare academic laurels in the same field. For instance,he is a Fellow of the Civilian Institute for Democratic Studies and Charted Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics in Ghana.
Aside from a B.Sc in Mass communication,he holds an Advance Executive Certificate in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations as well as Advance Certificate in Transformational Leadership.
He is well prepared for governance,no wonder he is a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Administration and a Doctoral Fellow of the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research in addition to an Honorary Doctorate Certificate in Strategic Leadership.
Dr Tom Ohikere is the holder of many honorary Doctoral Degrees amongst which is the Honorary Doctorate of Public Administration of the London Bridge Business School.
He is a Founding member of the All Progressives Congress with Late Prince Abubakar Audu in 2013 and alongside the late icon,Dr Tunji Braithwate co-founded the Democratic Advance Movement in 1998. In 2003,he was the senatorial candidate of the Alliance for Democracy,AD in Kogi Central.
He is presently the Chairman of Thomas Ohikere Research Chair for Media and Journalism of the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research in Nigeria.
